Our Apiary
Responsible Honeybee Stewardship
Honeybees at Roots & Spores serve a dual purpose: they support pollination across our growing operations and contribute to a broader on-farm ecosystem that includes our crops, greenhouse, and specialty cultivars.
We manage our hives with a focus on colony health, minimal intervention, and seasonal wellbeing. Productive, healthy colonies are the foundation of everything the apiary contributes to this farm.
Farm honey products are a developing enterprise at Roots & Spores. Honey availability will be announced through our Farm Updates and harvest list as production readiness allows. We do not guarantee honey quantities or availability dates.
Pollination Support
Our hives support pollination for our specialty crops, greenhouse plants, and developing saffron corms — contributing directly to farm productivity.
Ecosystem Role
Bees are part of our closed-loop farm system. Their activity supports soil biology, plant fertility, and biodiversity across the farm's growing areas.
Hive Health First
Colony health is our primary management priority. We approach apiary work with patience and care — not production pressure.

Raw Vermont farm honey is a future product of this enterprise. Availability and harvest announcements will be shared as production readiness allows.

At Roots & Spores, we think of pollinator support as agricultural infrastructure. A healthy bee population isn't incidental to farm productivity — it's a key input. Our apiary is deliberately sited and managed to maximize that contribution across the whole farm system.
